Who we are
We’re a small advisory practice in Rochester, Minnesota. We take a seat in a founder-led company, usually as the fractional revenue, marketing, operations or finance executive, and we build the function so it runs without us. We’ve been doing this since 2017.
- $1B+ in sales volume processed at companies our leadership ran revenue for
- $140M+ in portfolios managed
- 15+ markets opened or grown
- 2017 the year we started, in Rochester
Where we come from
Before Blankets, our people ran revenue inside large organizations: a global technology leader, the international division of a leading academic medical center, and a cross-border payments company that went from under a million in revenue to around six while we ran the commercial side.
Fifteen years of that. It taught us what a working revenue system looks like, and how much of it a small company can skip.
Who we work with
Most of our clients are founder-led businesses somewhere between two and ten million in revenue. Big enough that the founder can’t be in every room anymore. Not yet big enough to hire the executive who would fix that. A national firm won’t take the engagement, and a coach can’t run the function. We can, for as long as it takes to build the team that will.
How we work
Three habits. Clients will tell you we’re stubborn about them.
We take a seat with a number attached.
If the revenue target is ours, we’re accountable for it the way an employee would be.
We write things down.
Playbooks, a pipeline, a weekly rhythm, a dashboard someone besides us can read. That’s what makes the work survive the engagement.
We build to leave.
An engagement is finished when the function runs without us and someone on your team owns it.
Why “Blankets”
Growing companies usually have plenty of ideas and very little structure holding them together. What they need is a layer over the whole business: a routine and a number for every part of it, and a name next to each one.
A blanket seemed like the right word for it.
Where we are
We’re based in Rochester, and we work in English and Spanish.

Thirty minutes, no pitch. Bring the problem in plain terms and you’ll leave with two or three specific moves, whether or not we end up working together.
